Due to an overwhelming demand for more shows and the enormous onslaught of listener feedback, Gary and I have decided to go on indefinite hiatus. We regret to inform you that the demands of our listener fan base can no longer be met due to our limited budget constraints. We hope that you enjoyed our short-lived show while it lasted and we hope to one day return to the lucrative practice of professional film criticism and discourse. In the meantime, you can still download all of our shows through the iTunes Podcast Directory or you can contact me at jwnulife@yahoo.com and I will provide them for you free of charge.

LOTR: The Two Towers Review

Special guest Brian Lau joins us again for the second installment our LOTR retrospective. Despite its groundbreaking special effects, The Two Towers doesn't seem to hold up nearly as well as its predecessor and fairs even worse on repeat viewings. Oh, how I yearn for the old days of Peter Jackson. Co-host Gary Bredow offers up another acoustic number towards the end of the show so be sure to tune in!

The Last House on the Left Review

This remake of the 1972 horror film features hipster bad guys, gratuitous rape, and Tony Goldwyn making a t.v. dinner out of some guy's head. So what's not to like about that? Well, a lot actually. The best we can say is that it's at least not any worse than the original.

The Soloist Review

What's worse than having to sit through a bromance starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Lee er...uh..Jamie Fox? The answer: Having to sit down and listen to us review it. Listen intently to our inebriated discussion concerning this completely unremarkable film. Thank you Lackluster Video.

LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring Review

Special guest Brian Lau joins us for the first episode of our Lord of the Rings Retrospective. All sorts of mayhem ensues, including our signature rambling thoughts and barely coherent dialog. Tune in towards the end of the episode for a touching acoustic number by co-host Gary (guaranteed to bring a tear to your eye). Our longest episode yet!

Gremlins 2: The New Batch

Who would have ever expected Joe Dante's 1990 sequel to be even more subversive than its comparatively tame predecessor? Listen in on why we think this criminally underrated film is so special and why it deserves a second look. Joe Dante, where are you? We miss you.

Apocalypto

Say what you will about Mel Gibson but it's hard to argue with the fact that he is just as much of a provocateur in his personal life as he is a filmmaker. I would argue that the man knows how to make a fearsome exploitation film and makes no pretense about it. Gary disagrees and sees Apocalypto as a contemporary metaphor for something "bigger" that mankind cannot possibly defeat. At any rate, we both continue to be big fans of the Gibsonator and we hope he continues to hone his fabulously, bloodthirsty directorial skills.
